HIAB Services UK accredited operator at work

Accreditations & Memberships

HIAB Services UK works to recognised industry standards for lifting, transport and safety — giving our clients across England, Scotland and Wales complete confidence in every job.

Standards You Can Rely On

When you hire a HIAB, you are trusting an operator to lift heavy, valuable loads safely — often on busy sites and public roads. Accreditation is how we prove that trust is well placed.

Our work is underpinned by ALLMI-accredited operator training, FORS Bronze fleet accreditation, membership of Logistics UK (formerly the FTA), CPCS plant competence and a fleet of genuine HIAB loader cranes. Together these cover the three things that matter most: safe lifting, a well-run fleet and competent, qualified people.

It also means we are equipped for work where accreditation is a contractual requirement — including major construction, infrastructure, local authority and utility projects.

Fully insured. Comprehensive public liability and goods-in-transit cover on every load, every journey — alongside the accreditations below.

Our Accreditations & Memberships

ALLMI — Lorry Loader Training Standards

ALLMI (the Association of Lorry Loader Manufacturers and Importers) is the UK's only trade association dedicated to the lorry loader industry, and it sets the benchmark for operator training. Our HIAB operators are trained in line with ALLMI standards — covering safe slinging, signalling and crane operation — so every lift is planned and carried out correctly.

FORS Bronze — Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme

FORS is the nationally recognised accreditation scheme that raises standards in fleet safety, efficiency and environmental protection. Holding FORS Bronze means our vehicles, drivers and management systems have been independently audited against a demanding set of requirements — and it is frequently a condition of working on construction and infrastructure contracts.

Logistics UK (FTA) Membership

We are members of Logistics UK — the business group formerly known as the Freight Transport Association (FTA). Membership keeps us current with UK transport legislation, compliance and best practice, from driver hours and vehicle standards to operator licensing, so the service you receive is fully road-legal and professionally run.

CPCS — Construction Plant Competence Scheme

CPCS is one of the most widely recognised competence card schemes in UK construction. CPCS-carded operators demonstrate they have been trained and assessed to operate plant — including lorry loaders — safely on site. It is exactly the assurance that main contractors and site managers look for before allowing a crane onto their project.

Genuine HIAB Loader Cranes

"HIAB" has become the everyday word for a lorry-mounted loader crane — but it is also a manufacturer, and the original. Our fleet runs genuine HIAB cranes, engineered for precision, reach and lifting power. Pairing the right machine with a properly trained operator is what lets us handle everything from a single cabin to multi-tonne steelwork.

What This Means for You

Safer Lifting

Trained operators and properly maintained HIAB cranes mean every lift is planned, controlled and carried out to recognised standards.

Contract-Ready

FORS and CPCS are often mandatory on major sites. Our accreditations let you place us on construction, infrastructure and public-sector work without hold-ups.

Nationwide Confidence

The same standards apply wherever we work — England, Scotland and Wales. Distance never compromises how the job is done.

Fully Insured

Comprehensive public liability and goods-in-transit insurance sits alongside our accreditations on every job.

Accreditations — FAQs

What is a FORS accreditation and why does it matter?
FORS (the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme) is a nationally recognised standard covering fleet safety, efficiency and the environment. A FORS-accredited operator has been independently audited, and many construction and infrastructure contracts require it before a vehicle is allowed on site.
Are your HIAB operators properly trained?
Yes. Our operators are trained in line with ALLMI lorry loader standards and hold recognised competence cards such as CPCS. That covers safe lifting, slinging and signalling for the work we carry out.
Is the FTA the same as Logistics UK?
Yes. The Freight Transport Association (FTA) rebranded to Logistics UK in 2021. We are members, which helps us stay current with UK transport law and compliance.
Do you carry insurance as well as accreditation?
We do. Comprehensive public liability and goods-in-transit insurance applies to every load and journey, on top of the accreditations listed on this page.
Can you work on accredited or restricted-access construction sites?
Yes. Our FORS and CPCS credentials are designed for exactly that kind of work. Email us your site requirements and we will confirm everything you need.
