The HIAB 858 is the longest-reach rigid in our fleet. With a crane reach of 19.5 metres and a lift capacity of up to 18 tonnes at minimum radius, the 858 handles long-reach lifts and complex placements that standard rigid crane trucks cannot achieve — across England, Scotland and Wales.
The HIAB 858 is the top of our rigid crane range. Its 19.5-metre maximum reach makes it the machine of choice for long reach HIAB work — when lifts need to clear large obstacles, reach across wide site footprints, or place loads at significant distance from where the vehicle can park. Combined with a lift capacity of up to 18 tonnes at minimum radius, the 858 tackles jobs that standard rigid HIAB trucks cannot.
Because the 858 carries a larger crane, its usable payload is up to 5.5 tonnes — making it best suited to jobs where reach and lift capacity are the priority rather than volume payload. Our HIAB 858 is regularly deployed for transformer and substation equipment installations, large structural steel placements, machinery moves in constrained locations and heavy lifts at significant distance from the vehicle. All 858 deployments are carried out by our most experienced CPCS-accredited operators.
Lifts up to 18 tonnes at minimum radius (capacity reduces with reach) — handles transformers, large structural steel and heavy industrial machinery.
19.5 metres — the greatest reach of any rigid in our fleet. Places loads at significant distance from the vehicle.
Carries up to 5.5 tonnes — the larger crane takes more of the vehicle's payload capacity.
Rigid lorry configuration — still more manoeuvrable than wagon and drag or artic configurations.
Full lift plan, method statement and site survey available for every complex deployment.
UK-wide — England, Scotland and Wales. One-off and contract. Advance booking recommended for complex lifts.
Lifts up to 10.9 tonnes at min radius, carries up to 8 tonnes, 17m reach — higher payload with strong lift capability.
Lifts up to 10.9 tonnes at min radius, carries up to 14 tonnes, 17m reach — maximum payload with crane delivery.
Carries up to 14 tonnes with crane capability — articulated platform for the longest and heaviest loads where rigid access allows.
