When a project stalls because materials are stuck on a lorry with no way to offload them, or a cabin urgently needs placing before a site opens Monday morning, speed matters. Here is a realistic guide to HIAB availability and how to maximise your chances of a fast booking.
Same-day mobilisation is possible for standard jobs in and around our North West base, subject to vehicle and driver availability. Call us first thing in the morning for the best chance of a same-day slot. The earlier the call, the better — we can often accommodate by mid-morning for afternoon jobs.
Next-day bookings are our most common short-notice request and are achievable throughout our regional coverage area for most job types. For jobs further afield — London, Scotland, South West — 48 hours is a more realistic minimum to allow for repositioning the vehicle and planning the route.
Jobs that require advance planning include: lifting over a public highway (highway authority notification needed), abnormal loads requiring DVSA notification, road closure applications, or lifts needing a specialist vehicle that is currently committed elsewhere. For complex jobs, contact us as early as possible — even if the job date is weeks away.
When you call or email, have the following ready: collection and delivery addresses, load description and estimated weight, access notes (any low bridges, overhead wires, soft ground), your preferred date and a fallback date. The faster you can answer these questions, the faster we can confirm a price and availability.
