The glamping industry has grown dramatically across the UK, and with it the demand for HIAB transport to deliver and install the pods, lodges and shepherd huts that make these sites possible. We work with glamping operators, pod manufacturers and landowners throughout England, Scotland and Wales.
Types of Glamping Structure We Deliver
We deliver and install timber glamping pods (typically 1.5–4 tonnes), shepherd huts on wheels (800kg–2 tonnes), safari tents on platforms, modular eco lodges (2–8 tonnes per module) and luxury wooden cabins up to 10 tonnes. Each structure has different rigging requirements; we assess these at quote stage.
Rural Site Access
Most glamping sites are rural — fields, woodland, hillsides and farmland. Access for a HIAB truck can be challenging. We assess the route to the installation point, advise on ground protection requirements for soft or wet ground, and choose the smallest vehicle that meets the lift requirement to minimise ground impact. For very soft or steep ground, we use tracked ground protection mats.
Placing Pods on Bases
Glamping pods are typically placed on timber or concrete bases with pre-cast fixing points. The HIAB crane lowers the pod slowly onto these alignment points while a ground crew guides the corners. Good communication between crane operator and ground crew is essential for a precise placement.
Multiple Unit Sites
For glamping sites installing several pods at once, we can plan an efficient delivery sequence to minimise vehicle movements across sensitive ground. Contact us with your site plan and we will develop a delivery programme. Call 0330 175 8197.
