Hot Tub Delivery by HIAB: The Complete UK Guide

Hot tubs and swim spas are among the most common residential HIAB jobs we carry out. A fully-loaded swim spa can weigh over a tonne and measure 5 metres long — getting it into a back garden or down a narrow side passage is simply not achievable by hand. A HIAB crane makes what would otherwise be a difficult, risky operation safe and straightforward.

What We Need to Know

For an accurate quote, we need: the delivery address, the hot tub or swim spa make and model (or dimensions and weight), a description of the access — gate width, path width, overhead cables or trees, whether there is a gate or fence that needs a panel removing — and the intended final position in the garden.

Access Preparation Before We Arrive

Please ensure: the final position is prepared (patio laid, base in place), any gates are opened or panels removed, trees and shrubs that overhang the access route are trimmed back, and any vehicles that might obstruct the HIAB's street parking position are moved. On delivery day, our driver will call ahead with an ETA.

The Delivery Process

The HIAB parks as close to the garden access as possible and deploys its stabiliser legs. Slings are attached to the hot tub's certified lift points or a bespoke spreader frame. The crane lifts the tub over the fence, wall or obstacle and lowers it precisely onto the prepared base. The whole lift typically takes 30–60 minutes including setup.

Swim Spas

Swim spas are larger, heavier and less rigid than standard hot tubs — care must be taken not to flex the shell during lifting. We use spreader frames for swim spa lifts to distribute the load evenly and prevent distortion.
