Major outdoor events — festivals, sporting events, corporate hospitality and public celebrations — involve moving enormous quantities of heavy equipment into locations that are often in the middle of fields, town squares or parks with no permanent lifting infrastructure. HIAB crane trucks are central to the logistics.
Stage and Structure Installation
Festival stages involve lifting heavy steel ground support structures, roof trusses and rigging towers. While the largest stage structures use mobile cranes, many medium and smaller stage packages are delivered and assisted into position by HIAB crane trucks working alongside ground crews.
Welfare and Catering Cabins
Event sites require large numbers of welfare cabins, production offices, artist dressing rooms and catering units. All of these are transported and placed by HIAB. For multi-day builds, we coordinate delivery schedules to place units in the correct order without blocking subsequent access routes.
Power and Generator Positioning
Large diesel generators and distribution equipment for events are heavy, awkward loads that must be placed precisely at power distribution points around the site. Our crane operators work closely with event power contractors to achieve accurate positioning.
Containers for Storage and Bars
Container bars, pop-up shops and storage containers are a fixture of the modern festival site. We position these at the beginning of the build and remove them at the end. See our container transport page for details.
Programme and Timing
Events work to tight build programmes. We integrate our delivery schedule with your site manager's programme to ensure HIAB visits are sequenced correctly and vehicles do not conflict with other trades. Call 0330 175 8197 to discuss your event.
